Linda and I are originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin. We have been married since 1971 and joined staff with FamilyLife in 1992. We attend the Bible Church of Little Rock and have two married children.
As with many marriages today, we started out with issues that almost led to divorce. By God's grace our pastor at that time helped us with good biblical principles which enabled us to work through our issues.
Before joining FamilyLife, I worked on the Soo Line Railroad as a switchman. In 1986 I suffered an injury (back) that basically ended my railroad career. While off work and before my surgeries, Linda and I attended a FamilyLife "Weekend to Remember" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was at that conference that we once again heard the biblical principles that helped save our marriage. At the conference they talked about opportunities to serve with FamilyLife. Both Linda and I thought this might be something God wanted us to do. When we learned the opportunities were in Little Rock, Arkansas and we had to raise our own financial support, we decided that was not for us. But God had other plans. "The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9). The Lord continued to work on my heart to be a part of a ministry to help couples. After much prayer we knew the Lord was leading us in this direction.
I serve FamilyLife as an Event Planner. What this means is I travel to different cities and insure that the onsite needs of the conferees, speakers, staff, and volunteers are met. I take care of all the details of running the event so that conferees can give their full attention to the presentation of God's blueprints for their marriage.
Linda works part time entering evaluations from the "Weekend to Remember" conferences for the conference department as well as a Resource Center Coordinator at many of the conferences that I am assigned to work. We are both greeters at our church when we are home and Linda works with our churches AWANA program.
